Join us for an unforgettable adventure in Iceland’s glacial landscapes! Sail among floating icebergs and hike across the breathtaking Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier. On the Zodiac tour, explore vast areas of the Glacier Lagoon and get close to the icebergs. Let your guide lead you on a breathtaking glacier walk, fully equipped for safety.
THE TOUR
This adventure includes a 40-minute super jeep ride to the glacier, a 2-hour guided hike across Breiðamerkurjökull, and a 40-minute return trip. Afterward, enjoy a 20-60 minute break before the Zodiac boat tour. The order of activities may vary. Both activities start just meters apart at Glacier Lagoon for a seamless experience.
On the glacier walk, an expert guide will lead you through stunning, ever-changing ice formations. The landscape constantly evolves, making each tour unique. Be sure to bring a camera or phone to capture these breathtaking sights that won’t last forever!
Tour Structure
Morning Glacier Walk & Afternoon Zodiac Tour (8:30 AM Meeting)
- Meet by the Super-jeeps near the WC and café at Glacier Lagoon.
- Gear up (30 min), then take a 40-min jeep ride and a 15-min walk to the glacier.
- Explore the glacier for around 2 hours.
- Return to Glacier Lagoon via jeep and take a 20-60 min lunch break.
- Check in at ticket sales 30 min before the Zodiac tour.
- Receive flotation suits and a life jacket.
- The Zodiac boat tour lasts around 1 hour 15 min.
Morning Zodiac Tour & Afternoon Glacier Walk (9:20 AM & 10:30 AM Meeting)
- Check in at ticket sales 30 min before the Zodiac tour.
- Receive flotation suits and a life jacket.
- The Zodiac boat tour lasts around 1 hour 15 min.
- Take a 30-45 min lunch break.
- Meet by the Super-jeeps near the WC and café.
- Gear up (30 min), then take a 40-min jeep ride and a 15-min walk to the glacier.
- Explore the glacier for around 2 hours.
- Return to Glacier Lagoon via jeep.
Important Information
Participants must be in good health and able to walk 4-6 km in varying weather conditions (rain, wind, cold). The tour operates in all weather, so dress appropriately. If you are unsure about the hike, request a refund at least 48 hours in advance. No refunds for same-day cancellations or mid-tour withdrawals. Please read the tour details carefully and assess your own limits.

Prices are in Icelandic Krona (ISK) as shown on our web site. Prices and departures are guaranteed after full payment has been made.
CHANGES
Our trips are weather and condition depended. Ice Explorers reserve the right to change your itinerary or cancel your trip with your safety in mind due to factors outside of our control before the tour starts.
CANCELLATION
Cancelations or rescheduling require at least 48 hours’ notice before the scheduled tour departure for a full refund. Cancelations made with less than 48 hours’ notice are non-refundable. To apply the 48-hour policy, cancelation requests must be submitted to ice@explorers.is.
All tour cancellations must be emailed to ice@explorers.is through our office. We recommend you keep a copy of the email for future reference. We don’t refund clients if the client is late or doesn’t show up, even if the weather is bad, in case we are able to make the trip.. We recommend staying in a hotel or guesthouse close to Jökulsárlón —Glacier Lagoon.
INSURANCE
We advise all our clients to have insurance.
LIABILITY
No responsibility is accepted for losses, expenses due to delays, changes of flights, closed roads or other services or because of strikes, accidents, sickness, damage, negligence, weather, war, changes in bus schedules, or other similar causes. Iceguide does not assume responsibility for accidents or death that can be traced to the participant´s negligence, acts of third parties or exterior circumstances such as weather, natural occurrences, war or other similar causes.
