A local with guiding in his blood, Hjalti is calm, capable, and deeply connected to the land. In summer, you’ll find him captaining Zodiacs; in winter, leading glacier and ice cave adventures with steady focus and deep knowledge of Iceland’s landscapes and glacial formations.

Known simply as “the man” or just “the king,” Hörður has spent decades navigating Iceland’s wild landscapes. In summer, he captains amphibian and Zodiac boats; in winter, he leads glacier tours and drives Superjeeps. With deep knowledge of the land—and just about everything else—Hörður always seems to have the answer, no matter the question.
